Our philosophy is to foster a relaxed and natural approach to pet care while using a minimum of toxic or invasive treatments.

We recommend an annual visit to check for any problems that your pet may be developing. Through these visits Dr. Glanzberg will get to know your pet and its needs. Once this working relationship is established he can comfortably guide you throughout your animal's  lifetime.

In keeping with the strong convictions of this office we believe that health maintenance can be achieved with a minimum of toxic or invasive treatments. Many of these treatments, although helpful to one part of the body, can be harmful to another, or to the "whole".

How is this different from other veterinary practices?

  • We try to keep your visits to a minimum. If no problems occur, one visit a year should take care of all routine procedures.
  • Vaccinations are not given as frequently as in most practices.
  • Home prepared diets are recommended where possible.
  • Heartworm preventative medicine is optional due to very low incidence of heartworm in this area.
  • Flea products are only sold when absolutely necessary due to their toxicity to you and your pet.
  • The same veterinarian sees your pet each time.

Treatment

At our practice, we evaluate and treat our patients from a "whole animal" perspective.  We view an animal's systems and organs as closely integrated parts of the body, not as separate entities existing in isolation.
This method of assessing the "whole animal" is sometimes referred to as holistic medicine.

We think the term complementary medicine is a more accurate description of our approach to treatment.

Complementary medicine is a blend of holistic and conventional methods of evaluation and therapy.  It allows us to use the best tools and therapies found in conventional veterinary medicine with the comprehensive perspective of the holistic approach, and to administer homeopathic remedies when appropriate.

Visit our Homeopathy  page for more information on what homeopathy is and how it can benefit your pet.

Additional information on our medical policies and practices can be found on our Policies page.
